Foreman  (Full-Time)

 

Reports to: Superintendent and/or Project Manager

Position Purpose: Coordinate operations and oversee workers on active highway construction projects

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Train, develop and guide crewmembers
  • Provide complete and accurate Time and Productions Reports on a daily basis
  • Develop a daily plan for the next day’s activities, communicate plan to the crew in the daily job briefing
  • Coordinate/confirm that all necessary items are on site or scheduled for delivery
  • Plan and control labor costs in order to complete projects within budget
  • Monitor compliance with DOT, OSHA and other regulations
  • Haul, operate, load and unload construction equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site
  • Performs other related and non-related duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Previous experience leading and supervising employees is required
  • Willing and able to pass a physical examination
  • Willing and able to pass drug and alcohol screenings
  • Must be able to travel and work overtime, weekends and nights as needed

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Work includes heavy lifting (typically up to 50-100 lbs.)
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, vibrations and heights
  • Exposure to prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling and climbing
