Jr. Foreman  (Full-Time)

 

Reports to: Foreman and/or Superintendent

Position Purpose: Assisting with supervisory duties while performing tasks involving strenuous manual labor on highway construction projects

Essential Functions:

  • In absence of Supervisor, coordinate the activities of crewmembers on the jobsite
  • Assist in the training and supervision of crewmembers
  • Operate hand and power tools of all types
  • Set up traffic control devices such as cones, signs and barricades
  • Haul, operate, load and unload construction equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site
  • Performs other related and non-related duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of relevant construction experience
  • Previous experience leading and supervising employees is required
  • Experience operating basic construction equipment
  • Willing and able to pass a physical examination
  • Willing and able to pass drug and alcohol screenings
  • Must be able to travel and work overtime, weekends and nights as needed

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Work includes heavy lifting (typically up to 50-100 lbs.)
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, vibrations and heights
  • Exposure to prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling and climbing
